We usually have to cut into the plaster work to fit the fireplace. We will plaster around the fire, ready for you to re-paper or paint the chimney breast.
We can give you an itemised quote when we have visited your home and been able to assess the work involved.
Yes. Our quote includes removal of all unwanted materials.
No. In order to provide a complete service we only fit products that we have supplied or that we have restored.
HETAS is the monitoring body for all solid fuel fires. They ensure that all fires are fitted safely and comply with Building Control. To find out more: www.hetas.co.uk
We register working fires with HETAS, and they will send you a certificate.
No. This is a specialist job and needs to be done by a carpet fitter.
Yes. It’s always best to sweep the chimney before the fitting to check that the flue is clear and usable. If your chimney is bricked up, we can knock out a small hole for the sweep to access. We have the telephone number of a Bristol sweep and are happy to supply this on request.
No. In order to keep our costs down we ask you to pay by bank transfer. If this is not possible, we are also able to accept cheques or cash.
We fill our diaries on a first come first served basis. Most times of the year customers wait about 8-12 weeks from placing the order to the date of fitting. This can be longer in the busy winter months, and we thank our customers for their patience.
We usually ask that you to collect surrounds, hearths and fires. If this isn't possible, we may be able to deliver to your home for a small charge.
If you have any queries about anything you see on site, please give us a call or visit our show room and we’ll be happy to give you some more information or some ideas.
If you would like to reserve or buy an item, please give us a call or email with your contact details and we will be in touch. We don’t accept card payments. An on-line payment is best, but we are happy to accept cash or cheque.
Fitting a fireplace can create a lot of dust. We work as tidily as possible and we bring dust sheets, but the room does need to be clear of day-to-day effects and delicate items removed or covered up.
The majority of our work is in Bristol. We have worked in other parts of the country, but for work farther afield fitting costs would have to include travelling time.
When the work is complete, we will invoice you – there is no need for a deposit. Payment should be made within 14 days of the date of the invoice. We prefer BACS payments please but can also accept cheques or cash.
If we are not carrying out the fitting of fire we ask for payment before you collect your items.
